WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – Marilyn Louise (Beagle) Gay, 65, formerly of Leavittsburg, died peacefully at 12:28 a.m. on Sept. 15, 2014, at Hospice of Palm Beach County, following a short illness.
She was born July 22, 1949, in Warren, Ohio, (Trumbull County) the daughter of George and Armina Beagle.
Marilyn graduated from LaBrae High School in 1967, and from Kent State University, with a degree in Education.
She later received her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University.
She was married to Blaine Michael Gay for 36 years until his death in 2009.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Gay Hyatt and Sarah Gay, and one grandson, Sawyer Hyatt, all of West Palm Beach, where Marilyn had resided since 2010.
She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and a wide circle of friends.
Marilyn was an elementary school teacher with the LaBrae Local School District for 28 years until she retired in 2010.
She was named a Jennings Scholar by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for her work as an outstanding classroom educator.
Marilyn loved to paint, read, and travel with her family.
Her parents and one brother, Gerald E. Beagle, preceded her in death.
Calling hours will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, Ohio on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Pine Knoll Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Kidney Foundation, 2831 Prospect Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115-2606
