My grandfather, Henry L. Sternke (June 3, 1893), was adopted by Robert T. and Wilhelmina Sternke in Michigan. The family story was that his birth surname was Gay. It shows (with last name spelled wrong) that Henry is listed with with this Gay family.The rest of the information about Henry is correct as far as his marriage and children. How can I find out if this Gay is true information. I have Henry's death certificate and it says he was born in Cleveland, Ohio and lists the Sternke's as his parents. Any help will be appreciated.
